Dental Implants

Lost teeth can be beautifully replaced with dental implants

Dental implants are permanent replacements for missing teeth that are comfortable, natural-looking and durable. Implants are metal posts or frames that are placed surgically in your gums where they fuse with the bone in your jaw and provide a stable base for an artificial tooth. They provide much better support than traditional bridgework. They look, feel and function like your real teeth.
The benefits of investing in dental implants include:
  • Replacing one or more teeth without affecting teeth next to them
  • A stable support for a bridge instead of a removable partial denture
  • Providing secure, comfortable support for dentures
  • Improved biting pressure
  • Longevity and reliability
  • The increased self-confidence that comes with natural-looking teeth

The Implant Procedure

implant procedure
We are pleased to offer the most advanced dental implant technology to you. After taking an in-depth medical and dental history and a thorough exam with x-rays, we will schedule you for the procedure.
A single tooth implant surgery can typically take 1 to 2 hours from start to finish, including time for anesthesia. While under oral or IV sedation or, in some cases, local anesthesia, your doctor will place the implant in your jaw with the top of the implant just above the bone. It will take several months for the bone tissue to grow back securely around the implant.
After the procedure, expect some bruising and swelling for a few days. Your dentist can recommend prescription or over-the-counter medication to ease any discomfort. At this time, we will fit you with temporary dentures or teeth so you can function as normally as possible during the healing process. We will give you post-surgical care instructions that include oral hygiene and dietary instructions.
At the next appointment, when the jawbone has healed firmly around the implant, a small post will be attached to each implant. This will anchor the replacement tooth which will be attached when your gums are fully healed.
If you are facing the loss of one or more teeth or are dissatisfied with your dentures or bridges, dental implants may be the perfect way to restore your smile.
